David Michael Slater
David Michael Slater is the author of The Ring Bear: A Rascally Wedding
Adventure, illustrated by S.G. Brooks.
David teaches 7th grade Language Arts in Beaverton, Oregon. His students think
it's pretty cool that he writes books, but not so cool when he gives them
homework. David's first children's book was Cheese Louise! (Whitecap
Books, 2000) and his Jacques and Spock is scheduled for publication with
Clarion books (Spring 2004). He has published several short stories for adults in
literary magazines and was awarded the Winner for New Talent in the Great
American Book Contest, 2000. David lives with his wife and son in Portland,
Oregon.
