Janice Levy is the author of Alley Oops, illustrated by Cynthia Decker. A former ESL teacher, Janice has published six children's books including The Man Who Lived in a Hat (Hampton Roads Press, 2001), Totally Uncool (Carolrhoda Press, 1998), Abuelito Eats With His Fingers (Eakin Press, 1998), Abuelito Goes Home (McGraw Hill, 1995) and The Spirit of Tio Fernando (Albert Whitman and Co., 1995 and Scholastic). Her upcoming titles are "Cinco de Mayo: Let's Celebrate" and "Remembering Abuelito" (Albert Whitman and Company), due for release in the spring of 2007. Her adult fiction has been widely published in anthologies and literary magazines, and she is a three time winner of the Writer's Digest Contest for Best Literary Short Story.
